1222. Manchester
Robert Greslet obtained a grant of a yearly fair of two days' duration at his lordship of Manchester, to be held on the eve and day of St. Matthew. The grant is dated 11th of August. As the King was then a minor, the privilege was limlted until the time when the King should come of age.  For this concession the baron gave five marks and one palfrey. See further under date 1227.
