1474. Prestwich-Pilkington Park-Bury-Bolton
An old document of this date makes allusion to some "articles of agreement between ye Lord Strange and ye Parson of Prestwich, concerning ye tithes of Pilkington Park, after it had been dispared." Lord Strange was educated in Pilkington; led an army of Bury and Pilkington men to the battle of Bolton, and was ultimately beheaded there. (9)
