The coronation of Charles II.
celebrated by processions, dinners, &c., April 23. The conduit ran claret
instead of water. Warden Heyrick preached on the devine right of kings to
govern. "God save the king" was his text, and the sermon was printed. A full
account of these festivities is given in an account written by Mr. William
Heawood, who was steward of the manor, which was printed in 1841.(7)
