Dame Jane Meriel Mosley died 8th
July. She was one of the founders of Nonconformity in Manchester, and left £50
for the poor of Cross Street Chapel. She was the daughter of Mr. Richard
Saltonstall, of Huntwick, and married Edward Mosley, who was knighted
in 1689, and died in 1695. Her father and mother were resident in Manchester,
and are buried at Didsbury. (Baker’s
